How To Reduce the Size Of the Scanned PDF File?

There are several ways to reduce the size of the PDF file , lots of PDF Converters and PDF Optimizers are available which can reduce the size. Scanned Images or Scanned documents in PDF format will normally be of big size due to the high resolution that we scan and due to the color depth we choose. some tips to reduce the size of the pdf file is scanning at a lower resolutions and lowering the colour depth and scanning to Grayscale where ever necessary, that might not be the perfect choice if you are looking for the high qulaity PDF documents.

One thing I can recommend to reduce the file size of the scanned pdf document is to open the original pdf which is of large size in adobe acrobat reader or Adobe Acrobat professional and click on save as option to save another copy of the same file and check the size, you will sure have the file size reduced. this helped me most of the time in reducing the pdf file sizes, there are huge number of softwares available, try Google.

Googlebot Last Crawl Date Not Showing In Google Webmaster Tools

Surprisingly, today when I logged into my Google Webmaster Tools I found a change in the Home page crawl information in the webmaster overview for my blogs. Previously the home page crawl field used to display the last crawl date stating that "Googlebot last successfully crawled the home page of your site on Sep 18 2008". Now the last crawl date is not showing up,that turned into just an successful access of your home by Google bot and no information about the date and time, to be accurate "Googlebot has successfully accessed your home page" is the information i have in the Home Page Crawl field.check the below images before and after the changes in webmaster tools.

I was in a state of panic and started searching google about the issue and checked the Official Google Webmaster Central Blog for any information regarding the removal of the last crawl date from the google webmaster tools, Google Search results strengthened my query and took me here. Relaxed! That I was not only the one who is facing the issue.

I was very curious as you to know the reason for the disappearance(disappeared last crawl date) or removal of the Google bot last accessed date which was quite a good information about the Google bot visit to the site/blog, luckily a post on the Google Groups answered all.

According to JohnMu at google groups ,

"the date was frequently incorrect and not really that useful. It's generally more useful to look at it on a page-by-page basis, which you can do best either in the Google Cache or by checking your server's logs. Usually there's not much need to check the exact date a page was crawled - it's more important to see that we're continually crawling and indexing the site in general".

In addition, when i was checking the Subscribers Stats section I found a ADD button below the sitemap, which allowed to add another site map and resulted +1 to the original sitemap lists.

How do I know what operating System I Have 32bit or 64bit ?

If you would Like To Know which operating system you computer is running on,this might be silly , but it worth a lot when it comes to software upgrades and microsoft and linux windows service pack upgrades of your operating systems, you can track back the Version Number that you are running with the latest available version

For Windows computers, the operating system version appears on one of the screens when you first start up your computer (example: Windows XP, Windows Vista).

Windows Vista:-

Click Start, In Start Search Type System. Click on System or System Information in program list

64-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System, then your computer is running with 64bit operating system

32-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System,then your computer is running with 32bit operating system

Microsoft Windows XP Professional:-

1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.

2. Click the General tab. The operating system appears as follows:

For a 64-bit version operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version appears under System.

For a 32-bit version operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version appears under System.

Alternatively,

1. Click Start, click Run, type winmsd.exe, and then click OK.

RPC Server Unavailable or RPC Server Not Responding In Windows XP and Windows Vista

What Is Remote Procedure Call?

The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) server is a service in Windows XP that is used to validate and start other services within the system. If the RPC server is unable to start the appropriate service, it might return an error stating that it is unavailable.This error occurs during the installation of printer related products because the RPC server cannot find the print spooler that is needed to install the product drivers. This will occur if the spooler is disabled or corrupted. It may also occur if another print driver is not permitting access to the print spooler.

For information on this issue and for steps on how to resolve the issue, I recommend you visit

Recently I encountered an error "RPC server not responding" is displayed while installing printer software. This error occurs if the Windows print spooler is not running

To resolve the issue, you need to:

1. Restart the RPC services.
2. Restart the Spooler services.

Restarting the RPC Services :-

Perform the following steps to restart the RPC services:

1.click start,settings,control panel,
2.Select Administrative tools.
3.Double-click Services.
4.Select Remote procedure Call.
5.Right-click "Remote procedure Call" and select start,if it is already started refresh it.

Restarting the Spooler services

Perform the following steps to restart the Spooler services:

NOTE: You will require Administrative rights to restart the print
spooler.

1. Click Start and then Control Panel.
2. Depending on the View settings of your computer, open the Services
window.

a. Double-click Administrative Tools.
b. Double-click Services.

3. Locate the Print Spooler entry.
4. Right-click the Print Spooler icon and then click Restart.
5. A progress message will be displayed.
6. Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".
In the General tab make sure that the startup type is set to Automatic. Click on the Start button of the Service Status is Stopped.
7. Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".
8. Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.
9. Select the 'Log on' Tab and make sure that the 'Local system Account' is selected and click Apply and OK.

After, the steps are completed, follow the below steps:

Click Start > RUN, the Run box will open.
Type: INF in the box and click OK.

In the INF folder, delete ntprint.pnf, printupg.pnf, infcache.1 and any oemXXXX.pnf (XXXX being a sequential number ex:oem2.PNF).
IMPORTANT: Delete only the .pnf, not the .inf - the .pnf is the cached version of the .inf and will be regenerated if it doesn't exist.

After the Print Spooler restarts, you should be able to print or you might need to completely uninstall the printerdriver

Restarting the Terminal Services

1. Click Start > Run and type in: services.msc
2. Scroll down to Terminal Services and Right-click the Terminal Services icon and then click Restart, make sure it is Started.

After the steps are done, please see if you get the Error 1068: Unable to start the Print spooler and getting the following error while restarting the spoolers " Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

To resolve this issue, please follow the below steps:

1. Open a Command Prompt window
2. Type sc config spooler depend= RPCSS (note the space after depend=) and press Enter.

Alternate steps:

1. Go to Start>Run and type in services.msc then press Enter.
2. In the window that opens find "Print Spooler" on the right
3. Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".
4. Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".
5. Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.
Select the 'Log on' Tab and make sure that the 'Local system Account' is selected and click Apply and Ok

6. Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.
7. Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

If the issue persist, please follow the below steps:

To resolve this issue, make sure that all dependant services have been started. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Help and Support.
2. Under Pick a Task, click Use Tools to view your computer information and diagnose problems.
3. In the Tools area, click System Configuration Utility.
4. In the right pane, click Open System Configuration Utility. This opens the System Configuration Utility.
5. Click the Services tab.
6. Make sure all the following services are turned on. To turn on a service, click to select the check box. • Application Layer Gateway Service
• Network Connections
• Network Location Awareness (NLA)
• Plug and Play
• Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
• Remote Access Connection Manager
• Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
• Telephony

7. Click OK, and then click Restart.
8. After Windows restarts, return the Internet Connection Sharing Wizard.

The computer is unable to establish two-way communication with the Device

You might encounter the error "The computer is unable to establish two-way communication with the device" when trying to view estimated ink levels from the HP Printer Toolbox.

Here are the simple steps that I performed for my printer to overcome this error.

1. Click start, settings, printers and faxes.
2. Right-click Deskjet 5550c and select Properties.
3. Click the "Ports" tab.
4. Check mark the "Enable Bidirectional Support" option.
5. Under print to following ports option, check mark the USB00X (X=0, 1, 2..) Virtual
printer port for USB HP deskjet 5550c.
6. Click OK.

Aleternatively, you can check the solutions published solution1, Solution2 but this does not help as I do not use any of the mentioned antivirus programs, A third-party firewall program is blocking the HP PML Driver service. Unblock the service by following the instructions for your firewall program below.

How To stop, start and restart the Print Spooler In windows Vista Operating System

Click the Start button.
Click Control Panel.
Click System and Maintenance.

NOTE: This step is not required when using Classic view in Windows Vista.

Click Administrative Tools.
Double-click Services.
On the User Account Control window, click Continue.
Click Print Spooler.
Click Stop to stop the Print Spooler.
Click Start to start the Print Spooler.
Then right click and click restart to Restart the Print Spooler
Click OK.

Restart the service at a command prompt

	1) Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Accessories.
	2) Right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
	3) Type the following commands at the command prompt. Press ENTER after each command. net stop spooler net start spooler exit

Make sure you restart your computer too.

Cancel and Delete Stuck Print Jobs In Print Queue In Windows Vista and XP

Did Your Print Jobs Stuck in Print Queue? Are you unable to delete/cancel the pending or queued printing jobs in both Windows Vista and Windows Xp from the printer icon in the system tray? No worries! Just follow the rest of the post to start printing again.

You might have encountered this problem at least twice if you are printing hundreds of documents or sometimes two to three. Usually when you give the print jobs one after the other or multiple prints the at a time, the documents/print jobs gets queued up, some times the printer might not print all the jobs as a result you will not be able to delete or cancel the rest of the print jobs.

Follow The Solutions one after the other as per your resolution

First You Need to Open the Print Queue, follow the below steps on how to open a Print queue

• Windows 98 - click Start, Settings, Printers
• Windows XP - click Start, Printers and Faxes
  or click Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes
• Windows Vista - Start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Printers

Double click on the appropriate printer to open up the Print queue,Check whether you have any pending or the queued jobs, try to cancel the jobs by following the below steps.

To cancel one or more print jobs, follow these steps.
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type control printers, and then click OK.
3. Right-click the icon for your printer, and then click Open.
• To cancel individual print jobs, right-click the print job that you want to cancel, and then click Cancel.
• To cancel all print jobs, click Cancel All Documents on the Printer menu.

How To Restart Spooler restart In Windows Vista

Click the Start button.
Click Control Panel.
Click System and Maintenance.

NOTE: This step is not required when using Classic view in Windows Vista.

Click Administrative Tools.
Double-click Services.
On the User Account Control window, click Continue.
Click Print Spooler.
Click Stop to stop the Print Spooler.
Click Start to restart the Print Spooler. Then click Restart
Click OK
