Apple Support announced availability of  HP Printer Drivers v.2.16.1 for the OS X Mountain Lion OS X Lion Mac OS X v.10.6 Snow Leopard operating systems.

It is also read in HP Support forums that OS X Mavericks support these driver and fix the printing and scanning issues in OS X Mavericks.

Apple support came up with the solution! Open "System Preferences" and then "Printers & Scanners". Deletethe HP LaserJet printer, by hitting the "-" key. Then re-install it by hitting the "+" key. Printing perfectly again! as posted in HP Support forums.
